Personal Retreats

Taking some quiet time for ourselves is an important self-care practice. Wisdom House invites people of all backgrounds to spend a night, a weekend, or longer enjoying the peace and beauty of our grounds and facility. Many artists and writers have found inspiration here, taking advantage of the focused time to work on their pieces. The labyrinth, chapel, field, outdoor grottos, and peace garden all invite quiet contemplation, while our sunrooms, meeting rooms, and chapel are great places to sit and think, draw, or write.

On weekends, guests can enjoy a private room with either a private or shared bath, and meals in our dining room. On Fridays meals begin with dinner at six, on Saturdays breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served, and on Sundays Head Chef Margaret Jacobs prepares both breakfast and lunch. Guests wanting to stay mid-week will need to bring their own food which they may store and prepare in a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave.

Spiritual Companioning

Take time to reflect on your life with a person trained in spiritual direction/companioning. The role of the companion is to listen, reflect back what you say, and ask relevant questions as you look at your life through the eyes of faith and experience. If you are interested in deepening your relationship with God, entering into spiritual discernment or becoming more attuned to God’s presence in the everyday events of your life, then this may be for you.

Each meeting lasts about one hour, and is scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks.

Program costs have averaged $30 to $60 per session. Don’t let finances prevent you from taking advantage of this service - financial aid is available.
