Personal Retreats

Taking quiet time for ourselves is an important self-care practice. Wisdom House invites people of all backgrounds to spend a night, a weekend, or longer enjoying the peace and beauty of our grounds and facility. Many artists and writers have found inspiration here, taking advantage of the focused time to work on their pieces. The labyrinth, chapel, field, outdoor grottoes, and peace garden all invite quiet contemplation, while our sun rooms, meeting rooms, and chapel are great places to sit and think, draw, or write.

On weekends, guests can enjoy a private room with either a private or hall bath, and meals in our dining room. Guests wishing to stay mid-week will need to bring their own food, which they may store and prepare in a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave.

“I did a Personal Retreat at Wisdom House while in the process of getting my MFA in Fiction and Writing at Bennington College. I was welcomed and introduced to all the available resources of the property. Whether writing on the Sun Porch, reading a new and unexpected book in the store, or walking the labyrinth, I felt powerfully and silently supported in my work.”

“I would recommend Wisdom House for the tranquility that is found there. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace from the moment I entered my room.”
