Presented by Robert F. Piazza
Rekindle your creative fire! Poets of all levels, from beginner to advanced, come together to read, write, and recite. “What is man that Thou are mindful of him?” wonders King David in the Psalms. Throughout history, man has turned to poetry to contemplate and communicate with God. Saint Francis of Assisi composed poems to “Brother Sun and Sister Moon,” and Saint John of the Cross put his “Dark Night of the Soul” into verse.
In this workshop, we will explore the poetry of religious revelation, looking at poems by George Herbert, John Donne, Francis Thompson, Gerard Manley Hopkins, TS Eliot, and Christian Wiman. Bring your own pens, pencils, paper, notebooks. Poems will be provided. Enjoy opportunities to nurture your inner Muse.
Cost is $35 with Lunch Included
