Our many programs explore the intersections of art, ecology, health, and spirituality. We welcome presenters from a wide variety of faith traditions, cultures, and life experience, living into our commitment to nurturing a strong interfaith community. This will be a time for reflection, education, and joyful community gathering as we honor the end of slavery in the United States.
Go beyond traditional talk therapy with powerful techniques to transform emotional clutter into clarity and peace.
During this weekend intensive, we will explore theories and definitions of modern poetry, trying them on to see what fits for us. Seeking inspiration in the poetry of Dylan Thomas, Robert Frost, Marianne Moore, and many others, we’ll view their work as springboards or launchpads into our own creativity.
The Summer Solstice is the peak of light - a celebration of warmth, movement, connection, and the fullness of life. It’s a season of outward energy, vibrant presence, and heart-forward living.
This program will focus on being mindful of God's presence in our lives and how we can notice God being mindful of us.
Join us for a generative workshop in which we explore the poetry of Keats, Dickinson, Frost, and many modern authors to see how we can apply Keats’ theory of negative capability to our own writing.
One of our greatest literary visionaries, Emily Dickinson explored the vast spectrum of consciousness, from anguish to ecstasy.
Join us for a generative workshop in which we explore the poetry and paintings of William Blake, taking a deep dive into ten of his major poems, to see how we can apply Blake’s creative tension between opposing dualities into our own writing.
Together we will explore Thirst (2006), the luminous collection Oliver wrote after the death of her partner. In Thirst, Oliver opens her heart to loss while stepping more deeply into the language of prayer, praise, and spiritual yearning.
Come away to a quiet place…. We offer these quiet days as an opportunity to disconnect from the busyness of life, and to settle into the silence.
Step away from the demands of daily life and into a sanctuary of peace. Our five-day retreats invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and embrace the stillness that allows your soul to awaken.
On our spiritual journey together we will explore the prayers and and spiritual rituals of our neighbors as a way to honor and appreciate how they can aid us on our path to hope and new life.
A time of intense connection to self and others, using writing as a tool to retreat from our often too-busy lives of work and caretaking.

We thank you for your interest in programming at Wisdom House. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may occur, resulting in schedule changes. In case you need to cancel your registration, we respectfully request 8 or more days notice prior to the program to be refunded in full, less the program processing fee of $15 for a day program or $50 for an overnight program.
Please understand that we have costs already incurred when preparing for our programs. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations that occur 7 days or less prior to the program.
Should Wisdom House cancel a program due to low enrollment or circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full refund.
The health and safety of our guests and staff are of paramount importance to us. We follow the COVID-19 guidelines provided by the State of Connecticut and the CDC. If Wisdom House is forced to close to comply with the guidelines issued by the State of Connecticut or the CDC, we will return all funds received to date.
