Presented by Sr. Marie Chiodo, DW
Through the Hebrew Scriptures, the mystics, and our own stories, we will explore some of the ways that Wisdom permeates our Universe, our lives and our relationship with our world.
There will be time for quiet reflection and time for sharing in small groups. “Let me tell you of Wisdom, who She is and from whence She comes. I will not hide God’s mysteries, but will seek Her who is the mystery… I desire only to share Her, For the welfare of the world depends on a growing community of the wise.”
-LEW #3, St Louis Marie de Montfort

Sr. Marie Chiodo began her ministry as a Daughter of Wisdom, teaching Religion and English at Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in New York and at Wisdom High School in Maine. She later earned a Master's in Religious Studies from Mundelein College in Chicago and a Master's of Science at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Both degrees prepared her for her mission in countries and cultures around the world. That mission included engaging organizations in corporate discernment and long-range planning, leading retreats, training leadership teams and staff, and educating on multicultural awareness and conflict management. Sr. Marie’s passion for women’s empowerment led her to work with Salvadoran enterprises for Women, which focused on training women in self-esteem and small-business development in their local villages in El Salvador. In Maryland, she continues her empowerment work with Afghan women through collaboration with the local Mosque English Tutoring program online, and through her pursuit of justice for immigrant and refugee families in her parish. Reading and writing poetry anchor Marie in her lifelong pursuit of Wisdom.
