Twylla Alexander and her husband, Drew, have worked in schools on four continents. She is a former speech-language pathologist and elementary school teacher. Since walking her first labyrinth at the Shrine of St. Therese in Juneau, Alaska, labyrinths have played an influential part in her life.

Wherever she goes, Twylla seeks out labyrinths, like she did for her book Labyrinth Journeys ~ 50 States, 51 Stories. Over a two-year period, she visited a labyrinth in every state, created or envisioned by women. As a Veriditas-certified Advanced Labyrinth Facilitator, Twylla makes presentations about labyrinths, facilitates labyrinth walks and conducts retreats, providing the space and time for people to reflect on their own journeys. She is currently the Board Chair of Veriditas  a non-profit organization that provides educational and experiential opportunities for all those interested in labyrinths.

Her children’s book, The Power of Bread, tells the story of two children from different cultures who discover a common link, through the simple – yet powerful – act of baking bread.

When she’s not writing, walking labyrinths, or baking (and eating) bread, Twylla loves spending time in nature... hopefully with a grandchild, or two, or seven.
