Songs of Mary
This workshop focuses on the beautiful chants regarding Mary including Marian antiphons, the Magnificat, hymns, and special chants for the feast days. Participants will study the elements of Chant, including Gregorian notation and modes, and will learn strategies for legato singing, breath support and blending within a group.
Virtual Lessons & Carols: On Zoom
The pandemic has severely impacted our beloved choral groups. As a special community outreach, Wisdom House is offering a way for us to sing together online. We will meet on Zoom once a week, preparing our music under the direction of Dr. Marguerite Mullee.
Gregorian Chant
In this workshop, participants will experience the Chant as prayer and practice, learning both its spiritual and technical aspects. Through singing, listening and writing we will study the components of Chant, including sight-reading, notation (both neums and modern), modes and rhythm.
